Socket Weld Flanges (SWRF) are counter-bored i.e. the bore of the Flange and pipe, both are same, thereby providing a good ow of the product through the pipe. Initially used for small-sized high-pressure pipes, our SMO 254 Socket Weld Flanges are now used in high-pressure systems too. Our Stainless Steel Socket Weld Flanges are oxidation resistant and promote better weldability and fabricability. We seek to offer ANSI B16.5 Carbon Steel Socket Weld Flanges that have excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance to the LNG, seawater and mining industry.

Certified stainless steel billets are selected according to ASTM, ASME, and EN standards.
Billets are heated and forged into the required flange shape for maximum strength.
Precision machining creates the bore, facing, bolt holes, and required dimensions.
Stress relieving and solution annealing are performed whenever required.
PMI, dimensional inspection, hydrostatic testing, and NDT ensure product quality.
Flanges are cleaned, pickled, passivated, and finished as per customer requirements.
Each flange receives grade, size, heat number, and standard identification markings.
Products are packed securely with flange protectors, wooden pallets, and export-ready crates.
Why is an expansion gap required when welding Socket Weld Flanges?
During installation, the pipe is inserted into the socket until it bottoms out and is then backed off slightly to create an expansion gap of approximately 1/16 inch (1.6 mm). This gap allows for thermal expansion and helps prevent weld cracking caused by bottoming-out stresses during operation.
What pressure classes are available for your Socket Weld Flanges?
We manufacture forged Socket Weld Flanges in accordance with ASME B16.5 standards and offer them in Class 150, 300, 600, 900, 1500, and 2500 pressure ratings for high-pressure, leak-resistant piping systems.
What is the benefit of using Socket Weld connections?
Socket Weld Flanges feature a recessed socket that allows the pipe to be inserted before welding, eliminating the need for complex pipe beveling while ensuring accurate alignment. They are commonly used for NPS 2 and smaller pipelines in high-pressure applications.
Which material grades do you stock for Socket Weld Flanges?
We supply Socket Weld Flanges in Stainless Steel (ASTM A182 F304/F304L and F316/F316L), Carbon Steel (ASTM A105), Alloy Steel, and Duplex Steel grades to suit a wide range of industrial applications.
Are your Socket Weld Flanges tested for high-pressure applications?
Yes. All forged Socket Weld Flanges undergo rigorous quality inspections and testing to verify their integrity and ensure they are suitable for refinery, petrochemical, and EPC project requirements.
